Planning and Zoning Vacancy

The Town of Bluff is looking for one engaged and enthusiastic Bluff resident to fill a vacancy on the Town of Bluff Planning and Zoning Commission. The Town of Bluff Planning and Zoning Commission is comprised of 5 bona fide residents and qualified electors of the town of Bluff who represent private businesses, public institutions, elected positions, and interested Bluff residents.

The replacement Commissioner will be selected and appointed by the Bluff Town Mayor with the advice and consent of the Town Council. The initial directives of this Commission will be to review draft ordinances and ordinances of other entities and advise the Town Council on planning and zoning ordinances; and to develop a mission statement. The Commission’s duties include making a recommendation to the Town Council for adoption and amendment of the general plan and making recommendations to the Town Council on the adoption or amendment of land use regulations, zoning maps, or official maps as well as being involved in making recommendations on proposed subdivision ordinances, application processes and procedures, appeal authorities, and recommending an annexation policy for the town. The remaining term shall be for a period of 1.5 years commencing June 1, 2019 with this term expiring on November 30, 2020.

Letters of interest should be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2019. Commission selection will be made by Tuesday, May 28, 2019. All interested parties will be notified of the selection by Wednesday, May 29, 2019.
